Miam.miam duet; the world's first french press and teapot in one purists who love to brew the very best coffee and/or tea now can sing and drink in tune with the first combination french press and tea infuser hybrid. The duet coffee and tea maker turns a highly sophisticated teapot into a french coffee press in a moment's time with the simple press and release of a knob. Genius in practicality, the duet offers two separate interchangeable rods- one attached to a stainless steel french press mesh filter and the other a stainless steel tea basket. The retractable floating basket easily snaps into place and then tucks away for consistent taste in each cup making the tea infusing functionality truly unique among its peers. Most top coffee roasters and experts already agree that the french press is the best method of brewing coffee because the french press captures more of the coffee flavor and essential oils, which would become trapped in a traditional drop brew machine's paper filters- creating a stronger cup of coffee. Now tea drinkers have also met their match Made out of chrome plated stainless steel with borosilicate glass carafe, the duet offers two great functions for the price of one A great space saver as it's a two-in-one pot for those who enjoy both coffee and tea, the duet makes the perfect gift for coffee connoisseurs, tea aficionados, artistes and other cultural revolutionaries alike.

problem solved
Since writing my original review (below) I have upgraded my rating from a 2 to a 5. Despite my reservations about my original purchase of this product, when it came time to replace it, I bought another - namely, because it is still better made than the alternatives. When the new pot arrived, I found on the box the name of the distributor (United Brands), along with their email address,[...], and phone number, 415 615-0780. I called the distributor and found that they do supply replacement glass beakers at a reasonable price. I ordered one, and it arrived today. It's an exact duplicate of the original, so now I have two miam.miam pots.

This product is well made and works fine for coffee, although after using the tea feature once, I never bothered again (there are simpler ways to make tea that work just as well).

Great teapot
This is a great teapot. My boyfriend and I went to Teavana at the mall and bought loose tea leaves and we wanted a teapot that has an infuser for the loose leaves so I bought our new Miam.Miam without knowing if it was good or not. This was so easy to use and it brews the tea fast. We love this product and would buy it again. Not to mention it looks really nice and classy. We got the 1000-Milliliter and we were able to make more than four cups and with the tea we use, we were able to steep it another time. Just pour more hot water and in a few minutes you can have more tea. Easy and simple.
troublesome knob vs. excellent coffee
I had been wanting a french press for a while, and when I finally got this one I was so excited! It brews a great cup of coffee. I haven't used the tea function as much because it's more practical for me to use the single serve teabags and a microwave.
As much as I love my french press coffee, I will say that I was startled to find that the knob which "clicks" on and off the top to change from tea to coffee, or simply to wash it, doesn't just "click." The first time I took it off I thought I was going to break it because I was pulling so hard. My dad had to pull it off for me, and it took him a while because he didn't want to break it either.
Getting it back on was even harder until I figured out you could set the thing down on a hard surface and give a hard bop to the knob on the top, but it seems like a lot of trouble for a little knob.
I called the company and they simply told me that the knob was like that because it had to be secure...
