A good replacement for the Starbucks Bold t-discs.
I was a regular purchaser and user of the Starbucks Africa Kitamy, Caffe Verona, and other bold blends they provided in the T-disc configuration in partnership with Kraft foods. When that partnership was allowed to expire, and Starbucks went to the K-cup product for Keurig, I wasn't about to go out and buy another single cup coffee maker and replace the perfectly good Tassimo machine I already had.

Having previously sampled the Gevalia in medium blends and found them too weak, I decided to give the bolder Dark Breakfast Blend and the Italian Dark Roast a try. These turned out to be a great substitute for the discontinued Starbucks t-discs and are now my 1st and 2nd choice for single cup t-disc coffees. My first choice: Gevalia Dark Italian Roast, 12-Count T-Discs for Tassimo Coffeemakers(Pack of 3)

Best of the bolds
The bold line of disks is Gevalias attempt to replace the lost Starbucks line of t-disks. While not quite Starbucks they do pass for a better cup of java than some of Gevalias other offerings. While not exactly great, the Dark Breakfast Blend is the best of the bunch. Give it a try if you like a good cup of strong coffee.
rich, smooth, powerful flavor
I was a consumer of the Starbucks T-discs in days gone by and have searched for decent coffee discs for a while. I like this coffee blend better than anything Starbucks had. rich, smooth and strong with only a touch of acidity. highly recommend to try. on my subscribe & save list now.

Best K-Cups I have tried so far
With K-Cups being so expensive, I haven't ordered much for a while. Most prices are over .60 per cup. That's a lot of money a month for two daily cups of coffee. Nothing is cheap, and neither are these at about .50 per cup. I remember the good ol' days when the K-cups were not more than about .35 each, and it wasn't that long ago.

I have been buying K-Cups at Costco most recently, and the Tully's they carry are okay. Newman's Own are just okay too. Those run .475 per cup, so that's been a little better. This Martinson coffee comes close to the same price as the ones at Costco, but the flavor is superior. This is the first cup of coffee I have in the morning. It's got a richer flavor, fresher somehow, than the others I have tried.

Good X-Bold Dark Roast for the Price
Really my title sums up my opinion of this cup altogether. It does make a nice, heart large cup of dark roast coffee, and $25 for 48 cups as the preorder price was outstanding. At that price, I don't think I've ever really seen better, but at the same time the brew doesn't seem quite as bold or earthy tasting as a cup of Green Mountain Dark Magic or Emeril's Big Easy Bold. I prefer a robust large cup on almost every brew, and I've realized that even the Ice Brew K-Cups are basically the same thing; a cup of coffee with extra grounds for brewing a small amount stronger...so I brew iced coffee with my Extra Bold k-cups. I did the math on weight, and these weigh in at just under a cup of Dark Magic or Sumatran Reserve, but I'd still say my favorites (by taste,) are the brands I've listed above or Tully's Italian or French Roast, Caribou Obsidian, Starbucks Dark Sumatra, or even Barista Prima French and Italian Roasts. The only other thing I can note about these is that the construction...
Kinda tastes like instant
I really like a bold cup of coffee.

Generally if I want flavored coffee I will flavor it myself as flavoreds don't come in dark roast bold, however I expect to not have to flavor it to drink it. I want my base coffee to be an experience in itself and something that I look forward too.

Martinson Dark Roast K-cup does not give me that coffee experience. Although the coffee is smooth, I will give it that, it is bland and kinda tastes like instant.

Honestly I didn't spend the money I did on a Keurig machine to get a cup of instant coffee. I can do that with a pot of boiling water and a cheap jar of whatever.

While I do not expect the same experience as I get when I grind my beans fresh and brew it in my french press, I do expect a reasonably fresh ground taste.

On a positive note the presentation of the K-cups and the box are top notch. The black/gray combination makes the coffee look like it is presented in a tuxedo. 5 stars for the...

Great Coffee! Not Burnt
People are just bitter than they are not carrying the Starbucks line for the Tassimo anymore; if anything this is a blessing: Most of them are overrated unless you like coffee that taste like beans that were roasted in a weber barbeque. This a great tasting coffee which is full bodied and yet not so strong that it has a burnt taste. I look forward to buying this product more.

Great Bold coffee
I am a huge Starbucks lover, but Starbucks hasn't made Tassico t-discs for quite awhile, and so I have been searching for a good replacement for it. I really like this coffee. I have to add the extra water because it really is BOLD! But I love the flavor. I use this as a replacement for the espresso t-discs in my Latte coffee drinks for a little larger size.
Exclusively for Dark Roast Fans
Nice, bold rich, no-gimmics coffee for those who appreciate the robust, somewhat smoky flavor with a hint of bitter. This is not for the Blond Roast crowd.

high quality espresso
At first I was hesitant to purchase one of these. I liked the small size and ease of use but was concerned about the cost of the proprietary coffee capsules. I thought about it for over a year and finally decided that if I wanted to make good espresso at home I had to either buy a very expensive machine that took more time to use, required more work to operate and keep clean, and had a learning curve to get the best results from it, or I could get the Nespresso machine.
I've had this machine for a few weeks and I'm very impressed with the quality of the espresso it produces plus it's extremely quick and easy to use. You would have to spend much, much more on a very expensive, complicated machine and learn to use it properly in order to get better espresso and even then it wouldn't be that much better. (I also like the fact that the Pixie is made in Switzerland rather than in China like most things these days)
The cost of the capsules is a little high but the convenience...

Simply amazing
Cannot go wrong with this coffee maker. It makes espresso shots and "lungo" (long) espressos in seconds.
From startup, it only takes less than 30 seconds to be ready. Perfect espresso in under a minute.

I've had better espressos, but never have they been made in my kitchen at 60 cents per cup.

Best of all, the machine is tiny and barely takes up any space on the counter.
